Organic Air Vehicle Demonstrator
MLB participated with the Honeywell team
in Phase 1 of the Organic
Air Vehicle project sponsored by DARPA.
The MLB flight computer was installed in an airframe constructed
by Aerovironment, shown hovering in the image at left. New flight
control laws were developed for this aircraft, which can transition
to translational flight by tipping sideways to generate lateral
thrust. The Honeywell
team has been selected for Phase 2 development of the Organic
Air Vehicle.
