The combination of high resolution imagery and narrow swath width makes the Bat an efficient platform for corridor mapping. For corridor mapping projects, MLB provides a three-part product
- A sub-sampled georeferenced mosaic
- Full resolution georeferenced images
- Shapefiles that show mosaic and component frame footprints
The customer is able to utilize the mosaic and the footprint shapefiles to identify the proper frames to pull up for full resolution needs
This mosaic is composed of a series of high-resolution digital still imagery captured over an urban business corridor. The data product (not available here) created by MLB is a georeferenced image at the full 5 inches per pixel resolution (2.03 MB)
The image below highlights the significant increase in resolution that is possible with Bat georeferenced imagery. The image on the right is from the best publicly-available image, a Digital OrthoQuad (DOQ) acquired for the NAPP program. The image on the left was taken by the Bat. (187 KB)
Monitoring of power line corridors is often mentioned as a potential market for UAV, and MLB has conducted UAV feasibility projects for U.S. energy companies. Consequently, MLB has a comprehensive understanding of the best areas of utility and the operational challenges that must be addressed.
