Services
MLB provides a variety of services ranging from unmanned aerial
vehicle (UAV) demonstration flights to aerial imagery acquisition
to aircraft design and production. MLB has a record of high customer satisfaction,
as our past customers confirm.
Most MLB flight services utilize the MLB Bat UAV but may draw from
one of the other aircraft developed
by MLB. We only provide flight services that can be performed in accordance with current FAA regulations.
In some cases, customers are better served by buying their own
Bat UAV. Refer to our discussion of buying
a Bat versus utilizing MLB services.
Most recent customers have been interested in studying the application of small UAVs to a mapping or monitoring task. MLB has supported these customers with experienced professional personnel and MLB-owned aircraft. The rates for this consulting work are shown below and reflect the fact that research engineers, rather than technical personnel, are operating the aircraft. In the future, we anticipate UAV aerial imaging service providers to provide this service at a much lower cost.
Typical pricing for flight services within the United States:
Typical daily cost for 2 MLB engineers plus UAV equipment charges: $2000 (no charge for days spent in travel)
UAV leasing costs per flight hour: $225. Maximum daily flight of a single aircraft: 6 hours
Travel and shipping charges: At cost (typically $2000 in airfare and shipping plus $200 per day for lodging, rental car, and meals)
For high-priority imaging, two systems onsite is highly recommended, which increases the shipping cost by $1000
MLB standard image geocoding is $1.50 per image
These prices do not include additional image processing such as orthorectification, which must be determined on a case-by-case basis
